Deschutes Taps Former Goose Island Employee To Serve As Illinois Market Manager

29 January 2013 – Bend, Oregon – Deschutes Brewery has hired Gavin Stoub as its new market sales manager for the state of Illinois. The company launched its beers in the state earlier this month, releasing four of its most popular beers and participating in more than 55 events over a two-week period in the Chicago area. In his new position, Stoub will be responsible for solidifying Deschutes Brewery’s presence in Illinois by creating and maintaining relationships with key on and off-premise accounts. He will be based in the Chicago area.

“We are so excited about introducing our beers to fans in Illinois, and we just had a fantastic launch earlier this month,” said Stacy Denbow, expansion manager for Deschutes Brewery. “Gavin will be instrumental in continuing our momentum in the state by creating opportunities for sustained growth, education and relationship building.”

In his position as market sales manager for Deschutes Brewery, Stoub will be working closely with distributor Wirtz Beverage in managing Deschutes Brewery brands, including establishing performance goals. He will be responsible for providing customer service and customer education on Deschutes Brewery beers to accounts, and running promotional events in the region. Stoub most recently served as a market manager for Goose Island Beer Company, and also has a strong background in the restaurant business. He holds a bachelor’s degree in business from Eastern Illinois University.
