Uncle Fatty’s is Dead, Long Live Pinball at Headquarters Beercade (And We Called It!)

In Beer News by Karl

Headquarters Beercade is expanding, as we predicted they would.

Headquarters Beercade

It wasn’t but 48 hours after we tweeted this:

…that Headquarters Beercade announced plans to Eater that they were taking over Uncle Fatty’s and moving in a couple dozen pinball machines.

7,000 square-feet will be tacked on to include 20-25 pinball games both current and vintage when Uncle Fatty’s closes May 4. The expansion should be ready to open by the end of May, serving the same drinks in a similar atmosphere. Except for the types of games, that is.

Holy crap, were we psychic? Or just good guessers? Either way, speaking as someone who’s wiled away more than a couple hours at the Pacific Pinball Museum in Alameda, California, this comes as welcome news.

As noted lovers of pinball, we do hope they have the classic Theater of Magic machine; as lovers of prognostication we’re only posting this to point out that we totally nailed this prediction/hypothetical question.

As mentioned in the above tweet, Emporium in Wicker Park is expanding as well, meaning that if anyone who wants a license to print money should start looking at putting a third craft beer arcade somewhere else in the city. South Loop or Andersonville maybe?
