You know how people sometimes say “it’s an honor just to be nominated?” As it turns out, it’s quite true.
We got word this morning that we’ve been nominated in the “Best Beer/Wine Blog” category for SAVEUR Magazine’s Best Food Blog Awards 2013. We kinda half-jokingly tweeted about it a couple weeks ago, but it seems someone out there took us seriously, and for that, we thank you.
What we like the most out of this, is that a couple years ago, SAVEUR didn’t even have a category that included beer blogs. In 2013, four out of the six contenders write about beer, and two of those four are based right here in Chicago – we’re nominated alongside the immensely talented Michael Kiser’s Good Beer Hunting.
Because this is the internet, there’s naturally voting involved, and should the spirit move you to vote for us over the 5 other thoroughly awesome contenders, you can do that here. Yes, you have to register as a user, but we’ve done it before and it’s not the end of the world. For the time being, however, we’re going to pour ourselves something special from the cellar and rest on a gentle cloud of pride and honor and general happiness.
Voting ends April 19th, and award winners are announced in Vegas at the end of May.
