And the difference between those was similar. Hopslam tasted fresher, and had a crisper finish, similar to what was well described above. HiRes was the richer of the two- for better, for worse. Finish in particular wasn’t as crisp. The dankness stayed in your mouth and the beer felt a little thicker.

All a matter of preference. Which I would reach for would be just based on my mood. Both are top notch DIPAs.

It’s nice to see that you — and seemingly others — have gravitated to CLBC. You’ve got a good thing going in Cadillac.

I’ve become a huge fan of the Troegs brothers up in PA, and this is their absolute best. Sadly, it is seasonal – and in fact they just released this season’s Nugget Nectar to distribution about a week ago. I live in Frederick, MD and only one local shop received the initial shipment: 75 cases. It arrived just this past Wednesday morning at 7:30 am and by the time I was able to get there at 2 pm, they only had 20 cases left. Oddly, Troegs is also releasing Nugget Nectar in aluminum cans this year. I had absolutely zero interest in finding out if the metal container altered the taste I had been waiting to experience again for the past 12 months!

Thanks for the research (you lucky dogs) and keep up the great work, and Chive On!!

Cadillac has a rich history in industries such as lumber and boat building. Cadillac continues to be a strong player in the manufacturing community. The owner of CLBC is the president of a local foundry, he likes to emphasize the roll manufacturing has on the local economy. This pub/brewery has allowed many locals (like my wife and I) claim their own craft brew hang out. We visit many other brewpubs in Michigan, we think CLBC ranks up there with some of the GR and TC hangouts. I will continue to read your reviews and respond to your recommendations. Thanks Again! Paul
