Freebies! Everyone loves ’em.

We wouldn’t want you to miss out on any of the fun, so we’ve got some good stuff to pass your way from Goose Island, Lagunitas and the Cicerone Certification Program, as well as brewers participating in this year’s South of 80.

The first-ever GDB CCBW Giveaway commences now. Here’s how to sign up

The drumbeat of anticipation for Chicago Craft Beer Week is growing as we get ever closer to Beer Under Glass and the collective explosion of craft beer insanity throughout Chicago and beyond. Allow us to contribute to the din.

We’ve kindly been given the opportunity to pass out freebies in exchange for your attention and your goodwill. Thank you in advance for your eyeballs.

Up for grabs are:

1 Copy of “BeerSavvy” from the Cicerone Certification Program (reg. value: $199)

You don’t just want to drink all the craft beer, you want to know something more about it too, right? As part of the Brown Line Brews event, we’ve partnered with the Cicerone Team to provide one copy of BeerSavvy, their online training program which includes the Certified Beer Server test.

Once you’ve won, you’ll be able to tell us all about the beer you’re drinking when you join us at the 2nd Annual Brown Line Brews at Long Room on Wednesday, May 21st starting at 6:00 p.m.

As media sponsor, we’ll be there to congratulate you personally and talk to you all about the awesome beer including creations from nearby Ravenswood brewers like Begyle Brewing, Spiteful Brewing, Half Acre Beer Company, Metropolitan Brewing, and the first appearance of newcomer Aquanaut Brewing!

We’ve teamed up with DESTIHL, Rolling Meadows, Little Egypt and more to get you a whole bunch of nifty glassware and other various brewery swag. When you pick it up at the event (must attend South of 80 to receive), we’ll also buy you a beer featured by one of our visiting brewers for being generally awesome.

What is our annual South of 80 event, you ask? Find out here. Come see us on Tuesday, May 20, starting at 7 p.m. at The Green Lady. You’ll have fun.

We also reserve the right to add more stuff to this as the week goes on. Because why not.

How do you sign up? Easy!

Step One: Sign up for the Weekly GDB: All the Chicago-centric craft beer news you should know.

Want to see what one looks like? Here, take a look. Seems like it might be pretty handy, right? It is! So sign up:

Step Two:
That’s it. You’re entered. (Told you it was super simple.)

A different winner will be chosen for each option, so FIVE winners in total will be selected. You should probably tell your friends about this so they can get involved too, right?

Just a few more details (aka the Fine Print, even though it’s the same font size so technically it’s just “print”):

This giveaway ends at 12 p.m. noon on Thursday, May 15. Winners will be selected at random and alerted via email, so it’s important that you don’t give us a fake one just to enter. Otherwise, you’ll never know the joy of victory if you’re selected.

More From GDB:  ANNOUNCING: The "South of 80" Taplist

You have to be of legal drinking age to participate, and you must have appropriate identification for you and your guest when you receive your tickets at the event. Prizes are transferable — if you win and you can’t make it to the events, just give us the name and email address of who you want to pass the tickets or swag off to. However, we ask you give us at least 24-hours prior to the start of the event if someone is going in your stead — just so we don’t foul it up.

GDB will select the winners at random from the available email addresses, and we will select who wins what in order of names pulled — no calling dibs on anything, no matter how Chicago of a tradition that may be.

And of course, you can un-sign-up afterwards (we’ve done it too!) but we hope you stick around.

Good luck. Enjoy Chicago Craft Beer Week. We’ll see you out there.
