Happy Beer-thday To Us! GDB Enters Its Terrible Twos

The Date:  April 1st, 2012.

The Time: 8:30am.

The Event: Our very first GuysDrinkingBeer post.

Hey, it’s our birthday! Some of you may remember that we turned on the lights here at GuysDrinkingBeer central on the same day Stone Brewing came to town a couple of years ago, and forever shall our Chicago birthdays be intertwined. Since now and then, we’ve cranked out hundreds of posts (one every couple days, to be exact, as well as updating many more), thousands of tweets, hundreds of thousands of words about the world of beer and even a few Facebook updates as well.

Even more important, we’ve made some friends, we’ve done a bit of good and the world knows just a little more about beer politics, vertical tastings and cellared beers than it did a few months ago. We’re proud of that, even though our Shiner Cheer and Game Day Ice posts seem to rack up the most traffic in spite of it.

Like last year, if you’d like to wish us a happy beer-thday, go out and tell someone to follow us on Twitter, like us on Facebook, or even subscribe to our feed. Or, go drink a beer and tell someone about what we do. Write down our URL on a cocktail napkin and slide it across the bar to someone. As we evangelize craft beer to you, why not evangelize us around a bit on our behalf? Thanks. You’re good people.

As we said way back when, “a hearty cheers, Skol, Sláinte, Prost and Na zdorovje.  Let’s go drink some beer.” As true today as it was then – and we thank you for sticking around with us.
