{"id":10309,"date":"2013-03-14T09:00:16","date_gmt":"2013-03-14T14:00:16","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.guysdrinkingbeer.com\/?p=10309"},"modified":"2018-02-06T14:20:47","modified_gmt":"2018-02-06T20:20:47","slug":"nbwa-ba-now-accepting-nominations-for-craft-beer-distributor-of-the-year","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.guysdrinkingbeer.com\/nbwa-ba-now-accepting-nominations-for-craft-beer-distributor-of-the-year\/","title":{"rendered":"NBWA &#038; BA Now Accepting Nominations For Craft Beer Distributor Of The Year"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em><strong>PRESS RELEASE<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>ALEXANDRIA, VA <em>\u2013 <\/em><\/strong>The <a href=\"https:\/\/nbwa.org\/\">National Beer Wholesalers Association (NBWA)<\/a> and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.brewersassociation.org\/\">Brewers Association (BA)<\/a> are seeking nominations for the Seventh Annual <a href=\"https:\/\/nbwa.org\/industry-tech\/craft-beer-distributor-of-the-year-award\">Craft Beer Distributor of the Year Award<\/a>.\u00a0The award recognizes an American beer distributor who goes above and beyond in their efforts to actively market, sell and promote craft beer.\u00a0The award will be presented jointly October 12, 2013, at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.greatamericanbeerfestival.com\/\">Great American Beer Festival<\/a>\u00ae hosted by the BA in Denver, Colorado.<\/p>\n<p>America\u2019s beer distributors and craft brewers are invited to nominate any distributor they believe is deserving of the award.\u00a0Nominations will be accepted until <strong>August 23, 2013<\/strong>.\u00a0For the nomination form, entry rules and regulations, please visit www.nbwa.org\/craft-beer-distributor-of-the-year.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe craft beer category continues to experience tremendous growth thanks in part to the strong relationship between craft brewers and beer distributors,\u201d said NBWA President and CEO Craig Purser. \u201cThe entrepreneurial spirit of craft brewers continues to add energy and excitement to the American beer industry, fueling more than 2,200 breweries in the U.S. Independent beer distributors take great pride in contributing to this American success story by serving as the vehicle to market for craft beer brands and working with craft brewers to provide choice and variety to consumers.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Brewers Association President Charlie Papazian applauded beer distributors for providing a valuable service by giving craft beers a presence in the marketplace.\u00a0 \u201cThis award recognizes the creativity,\u00a0innovation and specialized services independent beer distributors\u00a0are providing on behalf of independent craft brewers,\u201d Papazian said.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to the Craft Beer Distributor of the Year Award, a Craft Beer Achievement Award (first runner-up) and Craft Beer Distributor Recognition Award (second runner-up) also will be presented.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\">###<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\" align=\"center\">(<em>Editors note: Itasca, IL based <a href=\"https:\/\/www.guysdrinkingbeer.com\/il-wholesaler-among-finalists-for-craft-beer-distributor-of-the-year\/\">Town and Country Distributors<\/a> was nominated last year, but didn&#8217;t win.
