we released the info<\/a> about\u00a0this year’s South of 80 celebration for Chicago Craft Beer Week. Now, we can reveal the full taplist — and it’s as awesome as ever.<\/p>\nAs a reminder, this year’s event\u00a0returns to The Green Lady<\/strong> on Tuesday, May 24th beginning at 7:00 p.m. <\/strong>And for the first time ever South of 80 will be a true tap takeover as we commandeered every one of TGL’s 30 tap handles for the event.<\/p>\nHere’s what you’ll be drinking.<\/p>\n
The South of 80 2016 Tap List:<\/h4>\nOld Bakery Beer Company (Alton, IL)<\/h4>\n North End IPA, 5.7% ABV<\/strong> \nThis IPA is dry hopped with Citra, Cascade and Crystal hops. \nCitrus Wheat, 4.7% ABV<\/strong> \nA wheat beer brewed with lemon peel, orange peel and a touch of\u00a0chamomile and coriander. \nPorter, 5.6% ABV<\/strong> \nA classic English porter that\u2019s bold yet easy-going and equal parts chocolatey,\u00a0nutty and roasty. \n1st Anniversary Barleywine, 8.7% ABV<\/strong> \nPartially aged in bourbon barrels and\u00a0finished off with toasted oak, cocoa nibs and cinnamon chips.<\/p>\nScratch Brewing Company (Ava, IL)<\/h4>\n Sassafras Flower Pale Ale, 5.1% ABV<\/strong> \nA crisp, light pale ale brewed with fresh sassafras flowers, teeming with aromas of fruit\u00a0loops, lemongrass and ginger. \nTurmeric and Oak Leaf, 5.2% ABV<\/strong> \nA gruit made with locally-grown turmeric and oak leaves\u00a0harvested from the brewery\u2019s property, which create an earthy and tannic beer with hints of pepper and fresh\u00a0carrots. \nBelgian Dark Strong with Black Currants, 7.3% ABV<\/strong> \nFermented with wild house yeast and brewed with locally-grown black currants to create a smooth and lightly tart beer that closes out with a raspberry and raisin finish.<\/p>\nMain Street Brewing Company (Belleville, IL)<\/h4>\n Pecan Brown Ale, 5.3% ABV<\/strong> \nA malty brown ale featuring in-house roasted pecans, giving it a slightly\u00a0sweet finish. \nCalifornia Common Rye, 5.2% ABV<\/strong> \nThis classic features the sharpness of rye with the maltiness of barley to create a\u00a0complex yet smooth beer. \nStrawberry Blonde Juele, 4.5% ABV<\/strong> \nFloral hops, toasted grains and gentle fruit notes make this an\u00a0easy drinking summer staple.<\/p>\nRolling Meadows Brewing (Cantrall, IL)<\/h4>\n Abe\u2019s Ale, 8.5% ABV<\/strong> \nAn imperial brown ale brewed with maple syrup, molasses and brown sugar. \nCherry Wit, 5% ABV<\/strong> \nBrewed with cherries from a neighboring orchard, this wit beer is slightly tart with\u00a0a crisp finish. \nStrawberry Basil, 5% ABV<\/strong> \nA saison brewed with strawberries from a nearby orchard and farm-grown basil. \nWhite IPA, 6.3% ABV<\/strong> \nA Weiss beer brewed with farm-grown coriander and locally grown hops.<\/p>\nIron Spike Brewing Company (Galebsurg, IL)<\/h4>\n Flatback IPA, 6.5% ABV<\/strong> \nA dry hopped American IPA brewed with Chinook, Cascade and Centennial\u00a0Hops. \nHandcar Hefe, 5.4% ABV<\/strong> \nA traditional Hefeweizen that combines light citrus flavors with aromas of banana and clove. \nLight Rail Cream Ale, 5% ABV<\/strong> \nA craft brewers take on the classic American style ale. \nMidnight Express Oatmeal Stout, 5.5% ABV<\/strong> \nWith notes of chocolate and coffee and a creaminess from the oats, this stout drinks well in both the winter and summer.<\/p>\nBent River Brewing Company (Moline, IL)<\/h4>\n Bourbon Barrel-Aged Russian Imperial Stout, 10% ABV<\/strong> \nA Russian Imperial Stout aged one year \u00a0in Rogue whiskey barrels adding sweet, oaky flavors to this already bold stout. \nUndercurrent IPA, 6.8% ABV<\/strong> \nThis IPA opens with sweet citrus notes followed by floral hops and closes\u00a0out with a bitter finish. \nDe Soto Lager, 5.1% ABV<\/strong> \nThis clean and refreshing Mexican-style lager is a summer-staple in the\u00a0Quad Cities. Garnish with a lime \u2013 or don\u2019t. \nUncommon Stout, 5.4% ABV<\/strong> \nBent River\u2019s top selling beer, this surprisingly easy drinking oatmeal\u00a0stout is infused with coffee.<\/p>\nTriptych Brewing (Savoy, IL)<\/h4>\n Dad\u2019s\u00a0New Girlfriend, 6.8% ABV<\/strong> \nAn IPA that features different hops every time it is brewed. This batch was brewed with a blend of\u00a0Galaxy and Citra. \nThese Aren\u2019t The Blueberries You\u2019re Looking For, 3.5% ABV<\/strong> \nA tart, playful, refreshing Berliner Weiss featuring\u00a0notes of citrus, vanilla, and blueberries. \nDone With Rye Puns, 9.2% ABV<\/strong> \nA rye wine brewed with three different kinds of rye, hopped with Ahtanum, fermented and aged in bourbon barrels. \nTL;DR, 8.1% ABV<\/strong> \nToo Long; Didn\u2019t Read is a strong Brettanomyces blonde ale full of fruit and funk.<\/p>\n4 Hands Brewing Company (St, Louis, MO)<\/h4>\n Hatch, 4% ABV<\/strong> \nBrewed in collaboration Destihl, this tart wheat beer is fermented\u00a0with kiwis and tangerines. \nRubus Flux, 7% ABV<\/strong> \nA collaborative brew with Marz Brewing, this IPA features two different strains of Brettanomyces and boysenberry. \nContact High Lime, 5% ABV<\/strong> \nA new version of 4 Hands\u2019 hoppy wheat ale brewed with lime. \nCity Wide, 5.5% ABV<\/strong> \nScarecly available in Chicago,\u00a0this American Pale Ale is brewed with Simcoe, Citra and Centennial hops.<\/p>\nRockwell Beer Company (St. Louis, MO)<\/h4>\n Miss Maudie, 6.8% ABV, Samples Only<\/strong> \nMixed fermentation multi-grain saison, conditioned on North Carolina Scuppernong grapes.
