Brewery Terra Firma"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>When it merits, GuysDrinkingBeer will bring you the relevant, generally-Chicago-centric information about what you\u2019ll be imbibing around town. \u00a0Here\u2019s what\u2019s running through our Mash Tun of Information:<\/em><\/p>\n<p>A new beer and a familiar one are due to be released on tap at Half Acre this Friday (2\/18). \u00a0The Half Acre Callow Knife, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.guysdrinkingbeer.com\/2011\/01\/25\/sparging-the-news-flossmoor-station-two-brothers-half-acre\/\">which we told you about last month<\/a>, was delayed by a few weeks but is scheduled to be pouring by the end of the week &#8211; draft only.\u00a0 According to Half Acre the beer is, \u201ca malt twin to Daisy Cutter, but we dry hopped the snot out of it with Falconer and Citra hops.\u201d<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_2497\" style=\"width: 165px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.guysdrinkingbeer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/01\/Callow-Knife-Color.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-2497\" class=\"wp-image-2497 size-full\" title=\"Callow-Knife-Color\" src=\"https:\/\/www.guysdrinkingbeer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/01\/Callow-Knife-Color.jpg\" alt=\"Half Acre Callow Knife\" width=\"155\" height=\"400\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-2497\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">photo courtesy Half Acre<\/p><\/div>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Also on tap, and available in 22 oz bottles is Baume&#8217;.\u00a0 The chocolate rye stout is Half Acre&#8217;s anniversary beer and was the first beer ever brewed at their site on Lincoln Ave.\u00a0 I split this with my wife and cousin-in-laws on Christmas Eve and it was a hit with everyone.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Also, look for Half Acre&#8217;s Over Ale in cans anytime now.\u00a0 In fact, I saw a four pack on the counter of Lush in Roscoe Village on Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>We&#8217;re now a week-and-a-half away from the bottle release of Flossmoor Station&#8217;s Hi-Fi Rye Barleywine and Barrel-Aged Hi-Fi Rye.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.guysdrinkingbeer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/01\/flossmoorbbhi-fi.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-2496 size-full\" title=\"flossmoorbbhi-fi\" src=\"https:\/\/www.guysdrinkingbeer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/01\/flossmoorbbhi-fi.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"558\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.guysdrinkingbeer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/01\/flossmoorbbhi-fi.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.guysdrinkingbeer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/01\/flossmoorbbhi-fi-600x327.jpg 600w, https:\/\/www.guysdrinkingbeer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/01\/flossmoorbbhi-fi-768x419.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Both will be released at the brewery (1035 Sterling Ave Flossmoor, IL) on Saturday February 26th at noon.\u00a0 Hi-Fi will run you $10 a bottle and the barrel aged version is $15 a pop.\u00a0 There is a limit of 6 bottles of each beer.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Speaking of releases, Founders &#8220;highly acclaimed&#8221; KBS will be pouring at the brewpub in Grand Rapids, MI on March 12th and will be on store shelves throughout the following week.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_801\" style=\"width: 409px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.guysdrinkingbeer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/06\/04_07_2010KBSVertical-026.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-801\" class=\"size-full wp-image-801\" title=\"04_07_2010KBSVertical-026\" src=\"https:\/\/www.guysdrinkingbeer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/06\/04_07_2010KBSVertical-026.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"399\" height=\"304\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-801\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">a 2008 &amp; 2009 bottle of KBS, sampled last year during a vertical tasting<\/p><\/div>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Last year we sat down with three years of KBS (&#8217;08, &#8217;09 &amp; &#8217;10).\u00a0 To see how the vintages stacked up with a fresh&#8230;growler (yeah, we&#8217;re nuts) click <a href=\"https:\/\/www.guysdrinkingbeer.com\/2010\/04\/08\/from-the-cellar-founders-kbs-3-year-vertical-2008-2010\/\">here<\/a>.\u00a0 BTW, we have cobbled enough away to do a 5 year vertical of KBS in 2012 &#8211;
