{"id":27872,"date":"2018-06-19T15:20:33","date_gmt":"2018-06-19T20:20:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.guysdrinkingbeer.com\/?p=27872"},"modified":"2018-06-19T16:01:37","modified_gmt":"2018-06-19T21:01:37","slug":"burning-foot-brewing-indiegogo-campaign-louisville","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.guysdrinkingbeer.com\/burning-foot-brewing-indiegogo-campaign-louisville\/","title":{"rendered":"Burning Foot Brewing: The 4th Best Brewer in the US Asks For Your Indiegogo Money"},"content":{"rendered":"<h4>One of our favorite finds from the Dark Lord Day 2018 bottle share &#8212; Louisville&#8217;s Burning Foot Brewery &#8212; is looking for funding:<\/h4>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-27893\" src=\"https:\/\/www.guysdrinkingbeer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/burning-foot-brewery.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"270\" height=\"269\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.guysdrinkingbeer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/burning-foot-brewery.jpg 270w, https:\/\/www.guysdrinkingbeer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/burning-foot-brewery-150x150.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 270px) 100vw, 270px\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Last month, we told you that one of the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.guysdrinkingbeer.com\/dark-lord-day-2018-three-floyds-brewing-munster\/\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/www.guysdrinkingbeer.com\/dark-lord-day-2018-three-floyds-brewing-munster\/&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1529513286952000&amp;usg=AFQjCNE9lsZhkSUfF5sIH2hhPTIYULWD6g\">very best beers<\/a>\u00a0we had during Three Floyds\u2019 annual <a href=\"https:\/\/www.guysdrinkingbeer.com\/dark-lord-day-2018-three-floyds-brewing-munster\/\">Dark Lord Day 2018<\/a>\u00a0festivities came from a brewery that <em>technically<\/em> doesn\u2019t exist yet.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">But now, Louisville-based\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/Burning-Foot-Brewing-851228408376873\/\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/Burning-Foot-Brewing-851228408376873\/&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1529513286952000&amp;usg=AFQjCNFFn9dthdf2EwHBd3LLg84OPLBGVA\">Burning Foot Brewing<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0is taking steps to officially open next year.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">They\u2019ve launched a crowd-funding initiative via\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.indiegogo.com\/projects\/burning-foot-brewing-restaurant-food#\/\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/www.indiegogo.com\/projects\/burning-foot-brewing-restaurant-food%23\/&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1529513286952000&amp;usg=AFQjCNHd3jvYGSiMp-NjDQpsRH0lTGGkBg\">Indiegogo<\/a>, with a goal of raising $50,000 over the next two months. That\u2019s a small part of the overall funding they\u2019ll put toward a farm-to-table brewpub to be located in central Louisville. Co-owner Nick Clark, a chef, plans to put that culinary background to use at the new brewpub, with locally-sourced ingredients and utilizing an on-site garden, as well.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Burning Foot is the result of three friends \u2013Clark, Ed Higginbotham and Erik Vaught &#8211; who began homebrewing on a 5-gallon system in their garage. As they shared their goods with friends, they realized they may be onto something worth sharing to a broader audience.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">That led them to bring backpacks filled with their 12oz bottles to Northwest Indiana for this year&#8217;s Dark Lord weekend \u2013 sampling them out at a local hotel and at the fest itself. As those bottles made their way around the region, a buzz was quietly growing about \u201cthose guys from Louisville.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Since then, they\u2019ve zoomed up the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/untappd.com\/brewery\/top_rated?country_id=86\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/untappd.com\/brewery\/top_rated?country_id%3D86&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1529513286952000&amp;usg=AFQjCNEgzbK3dZ-1niwT8TvJmK7R1uq9wA\">Untappd ratings<\/a>, as they\u2019re now <strong>the fourth-highest ranked brewery in the U.S.<\/strong>, just behind Pip\u2019s Meadery, Schramm\u2019s Meadery and 3 Sons Brewing. <a href=\"https:\/\/untappd.com\/brewery\/top_rated\">Per Untappd<\/a>, a brewery &#8220;must have at least 1000 ratings and at least 5 beers in their portfolio to quality for this list.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-27874\" src=\"https:\/\/www.guysdrinkingbeer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/untappd-grab-e1529429369889.jpg\" alt=\"burning foot untappd best breweries\" width=\"693\" height=\"492\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.guysdrinkingbeer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/untappd-grab-e1529429369889.jpg 693w, https:\/\/www.guysdrinkingbeer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/untappd-grab-e1529429369889-600x426.jpg 600w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 693px) 100vw, 693px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We sampled their Thoroughbrewd, a maple-coffee stout aged with bourbon-soaked oak chips, as well as S\u2019morgasbord, a macadamia\/marshmallow\/dark chocolate stout. Both are 22% &#8211; they say they\u2019re brewing beer to be shared with friends \u2013 and both were ridiculously good.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Now, they\u2019re turning to fans who want more of the ridiculously good stuff, to complement other investments.
