French Craft Brewers Hold A Pair Of Events Next Week In Chicago"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.guysdrinkingbeer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/02\/jenlain.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-9772 alignnone\" alt=\"jenlain\" src=\"https:\/\/www.guysdrinkingbeer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/02\/jenlain.jpg\" width=\"436\" height=\"192\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><em>NOTE: Next week we&#8217;ll be posting reviews of two of the beers pouring on Monday and Tuesday, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.guysdrinkingbeer.com\/review-brasserie-pietra-colomba\/\">Pietra Colomba<\/a><\/strong> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.guysdrinkingbeer.com\/review-brasserie-duyck-jenlain-blonde\/\">Jenlain Blonde<\/a>.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em><strong>PRESS RELEASE<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p><b>CHICAGO, IL<\/b> \u2013 On <b>Monday, February 11 and Tuesday, February 12<\/b>, nine French brewers, including <b>Armelle Sialelli<\/b> of <b>Brasserie Pietra<\/b> and brewery representative <b>Audrey Saint-Leger<\/b> of <b>Brasserie Jenlain<\/b>, will visit Chicago, bringing their beers with them, for two <b><a href=\"https:\/\/www.frenchcraftbrewers.com\/chicago-2013\" target=\"_blank\">Meet the Brewer Events<\/a><\/b> at <b>The Publican<\/b> (837 West Fulton Market, 312-733-9555) and <b>Hopleaf<\/b> (5148 North Clark Street, 773-334-9851).\u00a0 Guests are invited to meet the makers of these fine French craft beers and sample their wares on draught.\u00a0 Both bars will offer special pricing on the featured beers, plus food pairings and more fun surprises, all on a pay-as-you-go basis.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re thrilled to be visiting Chicago, and we look forward to meeting beer lovers and sharing our beers,\u201d says Sialelli.\u00a0 \u201cAmericans have an amazing affinity for craft beers, and we feel lucky to be able to share our favorites with them at these informal, sociable meet-and-greet events.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>First, on <b>Monday, February 11 <\/b>beginning at <b>5:30 p.m.<\/b>, Sialelli and Saint-Leger, along with the seven other French brewers, will visit The Publican, where guests will be able to sample:\u00a0 <b>Jenlain Ambr\u00e9e<\/b>, the brewery\u2019s flagship beer that is a classic example of a malty French farmhouse ale;\u00a0 <b>Pietra<\/b>, an amber ale brewed with a blend of selected malts, hops and chestnuts;\u00a0 and <b>Pietra Colomba<\/b>, a bottom-fermented, unfiltered beer white beer infused with a delicate mixture of indigenous arbutus, myrtle and juniper, alongside offerings from the other brewers.<\/p>\n<p>Then, on <b>Tuesday, February 12<\/b> beginning at <b>7 p.m.<\/b>, all nine brewers will move on to Hopleaf, where guests will enjoy <b>Jenlain Blonde<\/b>, an aromatic, golden beer and <b>Pietra Colomba<\/b>, as well as other beers from all of the French brewing dignitaries.<\/p>\n<p>Beer drinkers attending these events will also enjoy beers from Brasserie de Bretagne, Brasserie Meteor, Brasserie Bourganel, Brasserie du Mont Blanc, Brasserie Castelain, Brasserie Saint Germain and Brasserie Saint Sylvestre.<\/p>\n<p>Brasserie Pietra is located on the island of Corsica, where they have brewed traditional beers since 1996.\u00a0 Founded by husband and wife team Armelle and Dominique<b> <\/b>Sialelli, the brewery works from raw materials that include Corsican sweet chestnut flour, local Acqua Blanca spring water and fresh herbs from the <i>maquis<\/i> (Corsican scrubland).<\/p>\n<p>Brasserie Jenlain is a fourth-generation brewery and the second-largest independent brewery in France.\u00a0 Credited with reviving the country\u2019s only indigenous beer style, Biere de Garde, they have set an example for countless other smaller breweries across Northern France.<\/p>\n<p>For more information on the Chicago events, please visit <a href=\"https:\/\/www.frenchcraftbrewers.com\" target=\"_blank\">www.frenchcraftbrewers.com<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">###<\/p>\n<p><em>(Editor\u2019s Note: We receive a ton of beer-related press releases, but we\u2019ll only bring you the ones we think are relevant, fun, interesting, cool, newsworthy, or offer something we\u2019d be interested in checking out ourselves.
