ANNOUNCING Your New Favorite Book: “Beer Lovers Chicago”

In Beer News by Karl

"Beer Lovers Chicago"

While we’ve been covering the beer scene here since early 2010, there hasn’t been a full roundup of the dozens of Chicago area breweries, brewpubs, taprooms, bottle shops, beer bars, beer-friendly restaurants and everything else there is around here.

Until now, that is.

Over the past few months, I’ve been compiling the origin stories of breweries and brewpubs around Chicagoland along with details like flagship beers, annual capacity, brewing styles, future plans and more. It’s coverage of the scene here from top to bottom. Start to finish. From Alarmist to ZumBier and everything in between.

We can now announce that Globe Pequot will be publishing my full roundup of the Chicago beer scene under the title “Beer Lovers Chicago” in mid-2016 as part of their Beer Lovers series. Dozens of entries. Hundreds of pages. Q&As with Chicago beer luminaries. From the tiniest taproom up to Goose Island and Lagunitas, I tried my level best to give the broadest overview of everything that has to do with beer in this region, including Northwest Indiana and all the collar counties.

Beer fans will love the backstories of their favorite breweries, homebrewers will dig the 5gal all-grain clone recipes I’ve compiled, and even your non-beer-obsessive friends will enjoy learning about breweries they might not know even exist. All for under $20, and in a format that’ll fit right in your glove compartment.

Want to pre-order it now and make sure you don’t miss out on thousands and thousands of words about beer? You can do so  right here. While it won’t be in full release until mid-2016, we think even the prospect of it makes a fantastic Xmas gift. But then, I’m biased.
