In Beer News by Karl

‘Twas one year ago tomorrow that Half Acre threw open their doors and welcomed the world to their tap room.

From their site on November 2nd, 2012:

Today, November 2, 2012, we open the Half Acre Tap Room. Opening this space is the culmination of a lot of hard work by many people. The result: a traditional tap room where we, as brewers, can host people and share with them what we do.

A Tap Room is not a brewpub, not a restaurant and not a bar. A Tap Room is the one place where you can drink the beers a production brewer makes right from the source. The Tap Room has deep roots in the brewing world, but little experience in Chicago. The Tap Room is an experience all its own; a place where brewers exhibit their efforts — and beer brewed within those walls is paramount.

The Half Acre taproom has become a consistent destination for us, and we’re glad that hard work is being appreciated by the neighborhood as well. I made mention of this in this week’s Drink This Now, but head over on Monday for a pretty awesome sounding shindig.
